Carol Marine Biography

Carol Marine is the latest artist added to the stable of painters and sculptors at Riverbend Fine Art Gallery in Marble Falls Texas. She is a prolific and energetic painter of still lifes that exude friendly joy in the quiet moments of light. Color is bold and gentle, the brushstrokes are determined and sure, the subjects are friendly . . .  all qualities that make her work approachable and easy to be with.

Carol was born in Sheridan, Montana, and raised in the very small town of Harper, Texas in a dome house designed and built by her parents. Carol’s mother is a weaver and a potter, and her father builds boats. Her parents always assured their children they could do anything in their lives they wanted, and that it was better to have a job they enjoyed than to make a lot of money. Carol’s family has been her greatest influence and inspiration.

Carol graduated in the fall of 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with a focus on painting. She has been featured in local and national magazines (including Southwest Art). She received a Jury’s Top 50 award at the Salon International Exhibit in 2008. Recently she, her husband and child moved to Bastrop, Texas, where she has set up her studio. Carol divides her time between painting, teaching workshops around the country, and playing with her family.
